UNIT NAME:
Neuro Critical Care (NCCU)
Patient Population:
Adults above 14 years of age Mixed Gender
Hours of Operation: 24 hours / 7 days per week
No. of Beds: 8 Beds
Capacity & Structure- Dedicated beds for high-acuity neuro patients
- Continuous monitoring with advanced neurocritical technologies (ICP monitoring, multimodal neuromonitoring)
- Integrated with neurosurgery, stroke, and trauma services for seamless care
- Severe traumatic brain injury
- Subarachnoid and intracerebral haemorrhage
- Post-craniotomy and complex neurosurgical cases
- Acute stroke requiring intensive monitoring
- Status epilepticus and other critical neurological disorders
- Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
- Ventriculostomy and CSF drainage
- Continuous EEG monitoring
- Advanced ventilatory support for neuro patients
- Sedation and neuroprotective strategies
- Multidisciplinary rounds with neurology, neurosurgery, and critical care teams
- Highly skilled neurocritical care nurses trained in:
- ICP and neuromonitoring device management
- Neuro assessments and Glasgow Coma Scale
- Emergency interventions for neurological deterioration
