Operations Engineer, Quality Engineering
Job Purpose
To execute material planning activities by reviewing demand, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the timely availability of materials for production. The role supports operational efficiency by maintaining accurate planning data, monitoring performance, and addressing risks related to material supply.
Key Accountability Areas Material Planning Execution- Apply established material planning procedures in line with departmental requirements.
- Review material needs based on forecasts, production schedules, and inventory reports.
- Prepare and issue material requisitions to procurement within required timelines.
- Monitor stock levels of raw materials, components, and consumables to avoid shortages or excess.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory data and resolve variances.
- Suggest adjustments to stock policies based on usage trends and supplier lead times.
- Liaise with procurement to follow up on supplier deliveries.
- Work with production planning teams to match material availability to manufacturing schedules.
- Coordinate with sales, logistics, and quality teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Monitor KPIs related to material availability, stock accuracy, and fulfillment rates.
- Prepare routine status reports on material planning for review by the Section Manager or Manager.
- Highlight issues affecting planning accuracy and propose corrective measures.
- Detect potential risks such as delays, shortages, or inaccuracies in forecasts.
- Recommend mitigation actions, including safety stock adjustments or alternative sourcing options.
- HR Proficiency:
Obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the job and plan career development. - Delivery:
Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules. - Problem-Solving:
Resolve related problems and escalated complex operational issues. - Quality:
Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities. - Business Process Improvements:
Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities. - Compliance:
Adhere to related policy and procedures and work instructions. - Health, Safety, and Environment:
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management procedures within the defined area of work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 to 4 years of work experience.
- Technical / Functional
Competencies:
Materials Flow Analysis, Materials Handling.
