The job holder is responsible for ensuring the alignment of developed strategies with economic, aviation, airport and relevant regulations, overseeing compliance with local, national, and international laws, and advising senior leadership on regulatory changes while maintaining proactive communication and collaborating with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Strategy and Planning- Contribute to the development of Corporate Excellence business plan ensuring alignment with KSIADC strategy
- Develop the operational plan for Regulatory Affairs in line with Corporate Excellence business plan and Strategy strategic plan
- Implement plans and provide input to enable achievement of Regulatory Affairs goals that support KSIADC’S overall strategic plans
- Ensure regulatory requirements are incorporated into strategic planning, master plans, and operational frameworks
- Discuss Regulatory Affairs budgeting requirements with top management and provide input to the budgeting process
- Ensure effective utilization of Regulatory Affairs budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered
- Ensure effective utilization of the Regulatory Affairs budget and report accurately any deviations from set budget
- Lead the collection, review, and interpretation of relevant regulations and policies issued by government bodies, such as the General Authority of Civil Aviation, ensuring all guidelines are captured, implemented, and updated as needed to maintain compliance
- Manage the assessment of regulatory changes and the evaluation of their potential impact on operations and strategic plans to ensure alignment with the latest regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Analyze the tariff determination process for airport services and facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while optimizing the airport’s revenue model and financial sustainability
- Guide coordination with internal teams, including finance, commercial, and operations, to ensure regulatory changes are communicated and reflected in relevant plans
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and key stakeholders to stay informed of evolving regulations, legislative changes, and industry standards that impact airport operations and economic policies
- Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments, identifying areas of improvement and providing senior management with updates on regulatory adherence, risks, and corrective actions
- Provide strategic advisory support on aviation regulatory matters, ensuring that compliance considerations are embedded into corporate decision-making, financial planning, and airport operational frameworks
- Support the development and implementation of training and awareness programs on relevant regulatory requirements
- Manage and oversee the design and implementation of Regulatory Affairs policies and procedures covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high impact and achieving results effectively and efficiently
- Stay abreast of best practices to enable continuous improvement of systems, processes, and policies related to Regulatory Affairs
- Remain abreast of Corporate Excellence leading practice and new trends, and identify recommendations for corrective measures, updates and improvements where required
- Establish working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Collect feedback from stakeholders on issues being faced and other requirements in order to identify barriers and develop action plans
- Actively gain exposure and insights to local market development, business opportunities and the existing regulatory landscape
- Attend related forums, seminars, etc. to enrich network and learn about the latest developments and opportunities
- Participate in the identification and recruitment of key talent
- Guide, mentor and support direct reports in order to execute duties according to set policies and processes
- Develop individual performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate/appraise team and provide regular feedback on performance
- Establish a high-performance working environment and promote KSIADC values
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management or equivalent is required
- A Master’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent is preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience in similar role or equivalent with at least 4 years of experience in a managerial position
