Our client a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The RoleThe Project Director will lead construction supervision for a landmark mixed-use residential villas project in Riyadh. This pivotal role involves managing a large multidisciplinary team and driving the successful delivery of a world-class gated community. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of overseeing mega-scale residential projects from concept to handover, with a strong understanding of international standards and Saudi building regulations.
You will guide the project through all construction phases, ensuring exceptional quality, safety, sustainability, and client satisfaction.
- Lead all aspects of construction supervision for the mega residential/villa compound project, ensuring alignment with the project’s vision, quality standards, and schedule.
- Manage a large multidisciplinary team, including engineers, architects, consultants, and contractors, driving collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
- Oversee the project from ground-breaking through handover, ensuring compliance with international standards, Saudi building codes, and local authority requirements (MOMRA, Civil Defense, SEC, etc.).
- Implement and enforce robust QA/QC systems, HSE protocols, and sustainability practices across the project.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery by closely monitoring schedules, budgets, resources, and risks, and taking proactive corrective action when necessary.
- Lead contract administration, including reviewing, negotiating, and managing agreements in accordance with FIDIC Red Book standards.
- Drive effective communication and reporting to stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and executive management, providing clear updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Mentor and develop the project team, cultivating a culture of excellence, professionalism, and accountability.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, resolving technical and operational challenges efficiently while maintaining stakeholder confidence.
- Ensure that all construction activities adhere to safety regulations, quality benchmarks, and project specifications, achieving client satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 18 years’ experience in construction supervision or management, including at least 10 years in a senior leadership role such as Director or Senior Project Manager.
- Demonstrated experience leading at least one mega residential or villa compound project in Saudi Arabia or the GCC from inception to handover (project value ≥ SAR 1 billion).
- Proven capability in managing supervision teams of 50+ professionals.
- Professional Engineer registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of Saudi building codes, standards, and authority approval processes (MOMRA, Civil Defense, SEC, etc.).
- Expertise in construction supervision practices, QA/QC systems, and HSE regulations.
- Strong experience in contract administration, including FIDIC Red Book familiarity.
