Our client is a leading bank, setting up a digital vertical in Saudi Arabia. They are looking for a Chief Operating Officer to design and lead a scalable, digitally enabled operating environment that supports innovation, regulatory integrity, and outstanding customer engagement.
About the RoleThis is a senior leadership role responsible for building and overseeing the company’s full operational setup. The COO will manage customer operations, service delivery, and support functions to ensure they are efficient, compliant, and scalable. A key focus will be on using automation and AI tools to improve customer experience while maintaining strong controls and governance.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement a scalable operating model covering customer onboarding, servicing, payments operations, and back-office functions
- Establish high-performing operational teams across customer care, processing, and operational control
- Embed advanced AI-enabled service solutions to enhance responsiveness, reduce manual workload, and elevate customer satisfaction
- Ensure full alignment with regulatory standards set by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) and other relevant authorities
- Partner closely with Technology, Product, Risk, and Compliance teams to balance automation, control, and customer experience
- Develop clear service frameworks, SLAs, and performance metrics to drive operational excellence
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data, automation, and process redesign
- Act as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making and long-term growth planning
- 12+ years of leadership experience within banking, digital banking, payments, or fintech environments within the KSA market
- Demonstrated success in building or transforming operations within a regulated financial services environment
- Hands-on exposure to AI-driven customer engagement platforms and digital service automation
- Strong understanding of SAMA regulatory expectations and operational risk frameworks
- Proven ability to scale teams and processes in high-growth environments
- Fluent in Arabic and English, with strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university (Master’s degree is advantageous)
