Commercial Manager
The Commercial Manager is responsible for leading the commercial and contractual aspects of MEP projects, ensuring operations are supported and strategies are aligned to minimize risks and disputes while maximizing opportunities.
Responsibilities- Lead the commercial and contractual aspects of projects, developing and implementing effective commercial activity.
- Establish robust and consistent change control processes to secure Contract Price adjustments with the Client.
- Deliver comprehensive value and cost reporting for Business Unit and Project control.
- Maintain cost control systems for clients' demonstration, ensuring efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements in commercial management of projects.
- Provide professional focus, identity, and leadership to the Commercial Function, maintaining consistency with group standards.
- Support Work Winning teams in identifying and quantifying risks in bids and tenders.
- Lead key negotiations with prospective customers, partners, contractors, and sub-contractors.
- Maintain an overview of Risk Management processes and liaise for internal audit activities.
- Ensure adherence to contractual duties, obligations, notices, and standards.
- Coordinate synchronization between different departments and the commercial department, including finance and procurement.
- Oversee the development of Quarterly and Monthly project financial reports in coordination with the financial function.
- Adhere to the company QHSE policy and report incidents immediately.
- Strong communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in presenting logical arguments and reasoning analysis.
- Leadership abilities to guide and motivate teams.
- Expertise in managing stress in high-pressure environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in core MEP projects, with at least 3 years in a similar role on large‑scale projects.
- Proven experience with a main contractor in commercial management at a head office level.
- Extensive working knowledge of industry‑standard forms of contract, procurement strategies, negotiation, and dispute resolution techniques.
