MALL CLEANER / SANITATION WORKER

To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation in all public and service areas of the shopping mall, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for shoppers and tenants.

• Perform daily cleaning tasks as per assigned schedules and checklists, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing hard floors and carpets in mall common areas, corridors, and food courts.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize all public restrooms and ablution facilities, including toilets, urinals, sinks, and mirrors. Replenish soap, toilet paper, and hand towels.
• Empty all waste and recycling bins, ensuring proper segregation and disposal of waste to designated collection points.
• Clean glass surfaces (doors, windows, balustrades) and high-touch points (handrails, elevator buttons, escalator rails) regularly throughout the day.
• Operate and perform basic maintenance on industrial cleaning equipment such as automatic scrubbers, polishers, and carpet extractors.
• Handle and dilute cleaning chemicals safely according to manufacturer instructions and safety data sheets.
• Identify and report any maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, broken fixtures), safety hazards (wet floors, obstructions), or supply shortages to the supervisor immediately.
• Provide cleaning support for mall events and promotions, which may include after-hours work.
• Adhere strictly to all mall safety, security, and health policies and procedures.
• Maintain a professional and helpful demeanor, assisting shoppers with basic directional queries when approached.

• A valid Kenyan passport (with at least 18 months remaining).
• Police Clearance Certificate (Certificate of Good Conduct).
• Medical Fitness Certificate from an approved clinic, confirming negative tests for Tuberculosis, Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, and drugs.
