SAP Functional Manager; Procurement

Job Purpose

Responsible for the design, administration, and optimization of the SAP Ariba platform and S/4

HANA Material Management (SAP MM), ensuring it effectively supports procurement, sourcing, and supplier management. As the SAP Ariba and SAP MM subject matter expert, this role drives efficiency and strategic alignment through solution architecture, process improvement, and data governance. The Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, ensure ERP integration, and enable effective procurement strategies and compliance, adding value across the procurement lifecycle.

The scope of responsibility for this position will include SAP Ariba and SAP S/4

HANA Procurement tasks as well (i.e. MM / Inventory).

• Design and architect end-to-end SAP Ariba solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Design and architect end-to-end SAP MM solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Act as the subject matter expert (SME) in SAP Ariba modules, including sourcing, procurement, contracts, supplier management, and guided buying.
• Act as the subject matter expert (SME) in SAP MM modules, including materials requirement planning, procurement, inventory management, and invoice verification.
• Define the technical and functional architecture of the SAP Ariba and SAP MM ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration with SAP S/4
  
  HANA and other third‑party systems to enable unified data flow and streamlined processes.
• Lead design workshops with cross‑functional stakeholders, capturing business requirements, translating them into detailed technical designs, and gaining buy‑in to create sustainable solutions.
• Define a strategic roadmap for the ongoing enhancement of SAP Ariba and SAP MM functionalities, incorporating best practices, emerging technologies, and continuous improvement to meet evolving business needs.
• Define the use of BTP in the extensibility of SAP functionality outside of the core SAP S/4
  
  HANA to meet business innovation requirements.
• Define the use of Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG) cloud‑based middleware in Ariba integration to other solutions in the Solution Architecture.

• Advise on integrations between SAP Ariba and other SAP and Non‑SAP solutions in scope, using SAP Cloud Integration Gateway (CIGI) and APIs.
• Advise on integrations between SAP S/4
  
  HANA and other SAP and Non‑SAP solutions in scope, using SAP Integration Suite (CPI) and BTP Extensions.
• Collaborate with IT and external vendors to ensure seamless data flow, resolve integration issues, and maintain robust data synchronization and system interoperability.

• Provide advanced expertise to optimize and configure SAP Ariba functionalities that streamline sourcing, procurement, and supplier management processes, enhancing cost‑efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Provide advanced expertise to optimize and configure SAP MM functionalities that streamline materials requirement planning, procurement, inventory management, and invoice verification.
• Collaborate with procurement and business teams to map current processes, identify areas for improvement, and lead the implementation of redesigned workflows within SAP Ariba and SAP MM.
• Provide support for daily business operations, ensuring that SAP Ariba and SAP MM applications are meeting business needs and resolving any issues promptly.
• Supervise and conduct comprehensive testing, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), for all SAP Ariba and SAP MM implementations, updates, and enhancements to ensure successful and smooth go‑live.
• Create training materials and lead user training sessions to ensure optimal system use and support high levels of user adoption across the organization.

• Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures for SAP Ariba and SAP MM, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity across sourcing, procurement, and supplier management.
