Summary Introduction: An MDM Consultant is expected to design, implement, and maintain master data solutions that ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across enterprise systems. They analyze current data management maturity, define governance and stewardship frameworks, and align MDM architectures with business objectives. The role bridges business and technical teams to deliver trusted master data for critical operations and analytics.

• Design & Implement Data Models:
  Create data models that define the structure of master data entities and their relationships with other data domains.
• Align with Business Needs:
  Ensure all data models and MDM solutions align with business requirements and strategic goals.
• Enable Data Quality & Integration:
  Collaborate closely with Data Quality and Data Integration teams to streamline data ingestion, cleansing, and synchronization across source systems and the MDM hub.
• Maintain Documentation:
  Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of MDM processes, data models, standards, and policies.
• Monitor & Report Performance:
  Generate reports and define metrics to measure the effectiveness of MDM initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Assist in gathering and analyzing business requirements related to master data.
• Support data profiling activities to identify data quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in configuring MDM tools (e.g., Informatica MDM, IDMC, SAP MDG, Reltio, etc.)
• Execute data validation, cleansing, and enrichment tasks as part of MDM initiatives.
• Help monitor data integration workflows and troubleshoot errors.
• Maintain and update business glossaries and data dictionaries.
• Provide first-line support to business users for MDM-related issues.
• Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) and solution rollouts.

  Evaluate the organization’s current data management framework and Master Data Management (MDM) maturity level.

  Define clear MDM objectives and design a strategic roadmap to achieve them.
• Establish Data Stewardship:
  Define and implement data stewardship roles, responsibilities, and governance processes.
• Drive the design of scalable MDM architectures across multiple domains (customer, product, supplier, employee, etc.).
• Provide subject matter expertise (SME) in MDM best practices, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, NDMO in KSA)
• Lead workshops and training sessions to build MDM awareness and literacy across teams.
• Supervise and mentor junior consultants or data stewards.
• Drive vendor engagement and manage escalations with external tool providers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Data Management, with at least 3+ years in MDM-focused roles.
• Proven expertise in one or more MDM tools (e.g., Informatica MDM/IDMC, SAP MDG, Reltio).
• Strong experience in data modeling and designing master/reference data solutions.
• Deep understanding of data governance, data stewardship, and enterprise data strategies.
• Ability to lead workshops, gather requirements, and engage stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior team members.
• Experience implementing multi-domain MDM (customer, product, supplier, employee, etc.).
• Hands-on experience integrating MDM with Data Quality and Data Integration solutions.
• Strong presentation and client-facing consulting skills.
• Have at least one Informatica certification (MDM Certified preferred).
