Senior Cloud Engineer

Overview

Senior Cloud Engineer: Cloud Engineer responsible for designing, building, securing, and operating scalable infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), hybrid, and on-premises environments. The role focuses primarily on GCP as the core cloud platform, with additional exposure to AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The position includes responsibility for VMware virtualization and Veeam Backup & Replication
, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity for critical workloads. The engineer will support cloud migrations, manage Linux-based systems, implement high-availability architectures, automate infrastructure operations, and enforce security and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities include deploying and managing GCP services (compute, networking, storage, IAM, and security), administering VMware environments, operating backup and disaster recovery solutions, managing storage and database platforms, automating infrastructure using Ansible and Terraform, supporting containerized workloads, and participating in incident response and monitoring activities.

• 4–10+ years of experience in Cloud or Infrastructure Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience designing and operating hybrid and multi-cloud environments
• Experience with AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3) and exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is preferred
• Strong experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi
• Hands-on expertise with Veeam Backup & Replication, including backup policies, replication, and recovery testing
• Strong Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL)
• Experience implementing high-availability solutions (HAProxy, Keepalived, load balancers)
• Experience managing storage technologies (LVM, NFS, object storage, MinIO, S3-compatible storage)
• Experience supporting MySQL / Percona database clusters
• Automation experience using Ansible and Terraform
• Scripting skills in Bash and Python
• Experience with Docker and Docker Compose
• Knowledge of security hardening standards (NCA, CIS), IAM, secrets, certificates, and encryption
• Experience configuring WAF and security controls (Cloud Armor, Mod Security, Coraza)
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring, Logging)

• Relevant certifications preferred:
• RHCSA / RHCE
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer
• AWS or OCI certifications
