Transportation Specialist – Network Operation Center (NOC)

NOC is the central command and control center for ‘Transportation Execution’ across the Amazon Supply Chain network supporting multiple geographies like NA, India and EU. It ensures hassle free, timely pick‑up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs. In case of any exceptions, NOC steps in to resolve the issue and keeps all stakeholders informed on the proceedings.

It also analyzes network exceptions and automates or proposes process changes for continuous improvement.

Overall, NOC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation and thereby has a direct impact on Amazon’s ability to serve customers on time.

A Transportation Operations Specialist at NOC facilitates the flow of information between different stakeholders (Trans Carriers, Hubs, Warehouses) and resolves issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. The role covers two verticals:
Inbound and Outbound operations.

• Inbound Operations
  :
  Manage Vendor/Carrier/FC relationships to ensure on‑time pick‑up and delivery to FCs. Address any issues from pick‑up to delivery.
• Outbound Operations
  :
  Oversee FC/Carrier relationships to ensure trucks leave the FC according to promise to deliver customer orders. Resolve issues during freight departure and delivery to customer premises.
• Provide real‑time resolution by researching and querying internal tools and making real‑time decisions.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and drive customer experience improvements while meeting time constraints.
• Communicate clearly in written and oral form and ideate process improvements.

• Communicate with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers).
• Pull data from multiple databases using Excel, Access, SQL, or other data management systems to perform ad‑hoc reporting and analysis.
• Develop and understand performance metrics to drive business results.
• Scope business and functional requirements for Amazon technology teams to enhance software tools used by NOC.
• Understand business impact of trends and make informed decisions based on available data.
• Escalate problems or data variance to relevant owners and teams and follow through on resolutions.
• Work within time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying activities performed.
• Provide real‑time customer experience in a 24×7 operating environment.
• Deliver weekly findings and variances to goals; present findings in review forums.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 10–24 months of work experience.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Arabic and English with at least 1 year of experience.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to facilitate flow of information between external parties.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel and data analysis (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team in a dynamic environment.
