Cloud Automation Engineer

Skills: Terraform (Hashi Corp Certified: Terraform Associate), OCI, or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD/Open Shift Specialist Ex280)

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Automation Engineer to design, build, and optimize infrastructure automation solutions across cloud-based and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Cloud Formation, and will be proficient in establishing robust CI/CD pipelines.

This role also focuses on leveraging VMware automation and the Aria stack to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices. In addition, hands-on experience with Open Shift, Nutanix platforms, and Hyperscaler environments such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is highly desirable to support the organization’s multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud automation strategies.

• Infrastructure Automation & Orchestration
  • Develop and maintain reusable and scalable IaC templates using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Cloud Formation.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure automation solutions by leveraging VMware tools and the Aria stack.
  • Enable policy-as-code practices to ensure compliance and governance across automated deployments.
  • Manage Open Shift clusters to support containerized application environments.
• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for automating the build, test, and deployment of infrastructure and application code.
• Integrate automated testing and quality gates to ensure reliability and performance of deployments.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops and development teams to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
• Work with platforms such as VMware, OCI and Google Cloud to deploy and optimize cloud infrastructure.
• Use IaC tools to support multi-cloud and hybrid cloud strategies.
• Enable cloud-native architecture and containerized environments using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Utilize VMware automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and deliver self-service capabilities (VMware Aria Ops Orchestrator)
• Integrate and automate solutions across Nutanix platforms and hyperscaler environments such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Monitoring & Optimization
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and implement auto-scaling and self-healing mechanisms.
  • Identify and automate repetitive operational tasks to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to align infrastructure automation with business goals.
• Maintain clear and detailed documentation of automation scripts, pipelines, and architecture.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members on IaC tools and best practices.

• Technical Expertise:
  • Advanced knowledge of Ansible, Terraform for IaC implementation.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, or Git Hub Actions.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Power Shell.
  • Experience with VMware automation platforms and the Aria stack to support cloud and virtualization initiatives.
  • Experience working with Nutanix environments (AHV, Prism, Calm) for infrastructure automation.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and Git Ops workflows.
• Nice to Have:
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider Hyperscaler as OCI
  • Solid understanding and Administration of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Red Hat Open Shift.
• Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Experience
  :
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure automation on VMware Private Cloud Stack or Public Cloud OCI Platform, Cloud Engineering, or Dev Ops roles.
  • Proven experience in deploying and managing IaC at scale with Terraform and Configuration Management using Ansible.
