The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies at the workplace. The role ensures compliance with safety regulations, promotes a strong safety culture, and minimizes workplace hazards and accidents.
Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and monitor workplace health and safety policies in compliance with local regulations and international standards
Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments at work sites
Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all employees
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training programs
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports
Maintain safety records, permits, and statutory documentation
Coordinate with supervisors and management to ensure safety compliance
Ensure emergency preparedness, including fire safety and evacuation drills
Promote continuous improvement in safety performance and awareness
Essential QualificationsAny Diploma or Degree (relevant to safety or engineering preferred)
Mandatory certification:
NEBOSH (IGC)
or
OSHA Certification
Valid certification must be available for verification
Skills RequiredStrong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
Ability to identify risks and implement control measures
Good report writing and documentation skills
Strong observation and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Language RequirementEnglish communication is mandatory (spoken and written)
Other RequirementsWillingness to work at site locations as per project requirements
Ability to coordinate with multicultural teams
Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance
