Senior Wind Energy Consultant

Overview

The Senior Wind Energy Consultant will lead and deliver high-quality technical consulting services for wind power projects, including feasibility studies, wind resource assessments, energy yield analysis, design review, quality and risk assessments. The role requires deep expertise in wind energy engineering, strong analytical capabilities, and proven experience supporting IPP (Independent Power Producer) projects.

1. Technical Consulting & Advisory

• Provide expert technical consultation for onshore wind power projects throughout all project stages (concept → development → construction → operation).
• Lead feasibility studies, due diligence assessments, and technical advisory services for developers, lenders, and IPPs.
• Advise clients on turbine selection, site suitability, layout optimization, and project risks.

2. Wind Resource Assessment & Energy Production Analysis

• Conduct and review wind resource assessments using industry‑standard tools (e.g., WAsP, WindPRO, Open Wind).
• Analyze wind measurement data (masts, LiDAR, SoDAR) and validate long‑term wind conditions.
• Perform energy yield calculations, uncertainty analysis, and loss assessments.
• Prepare bankable energy production reports for financing and investment decisions.
• Review and validate detailed engineering designs for wind farms, including:
• Electrical systems (collection network, substations)
• Civil works (roads, foundations, crane pads)
• Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, ISO) and local regulations.

4. Quality & Risk Management

• Conduct risk assessments covering technical, environmental, and construction risks.
• Participate in quality audits and ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design and safety requirements.
• Review contractor submittals, method statements, and quality documentation.
• Support resolution of technical issues during construction.

6. IPP Project Support

• Support IPP clients with bid preparation, tender evaluation, and contract negotiation.
• Review EPC, O&M, and PPA technical clauses.
• Provide expert input for financial models related to energy yield, CAPEX/OPEX, and project risks.

7. Reporting & Client Engagement

• Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and deliverables.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies professionally and confidently.
• Represent the company in meetings, workshops, and industry events.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Renewable Energy, or related engineering field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in wind energy engineering, consulting, or project development.
