Civil Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Design Engineer to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team. The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing design submissions, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards, and regulations, and providing expert advice on necessary modifications to optimize project delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and review civil engineering design plans, drawings, and specifications submitted by external consultants or contractors.
• Ensure that all design documents meet project objectives, local and international codes, standards, and best practices.
• Recommend necessary design modifications or improvements to optimize functionality, safety, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure design coherence and resolve any conflicts.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs consider constructability, feasibility, and cost optimization while maintaining quality and project integrity.
• Identify potential risks related to the civil design and propose mitigation strategies.
• Review and verify design documents, calculations, and reports before final approval.
• Conduct site visits as required to ensure that designs are being implemented as planned and provide on-site guidance where necessary.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations on design progress, challenges, and proposed modifications for senior management and stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in civil design, with at least 5 years in a PMC environment reviewing designs.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant civil engineering tools.
• Strong understanding of local and international building codes, design standards, and regulations.
