We are seeking a Risk Manager as part of DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, Riyadh Branch. The job opening is located in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.
Responsibilities- Identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks during the design review and construction supervision phases of the project.
- The role ensures proactive risk management practices are embedded across all project activities to protect schedule, cost, quality, safety, and contractual objectives.
- Develop and implement the Project Risk Management Plan.
- Establish risk management procedures aligned with organizational standards.
- Facilitate risk identification workshops during design and construction phases.
- Maintain and regularly update the project risk register.
- Identify technical, coordination, regulatory, and constructability risks in design submissions.
- Assess potential impacts of design changes on cost and schedule.
- Support value engineering and alternative technical solutions.
- Ensure early warning mechanisms for design‑related risks.
- Monitor site‑related risks including delays, resource constraints, quality issues, & safety concerns.
- Evaluate contractor risk assessments and mitigation plans.
- Coordinate with supervision teams to ensure risk controls are implemented.
- Track emerging risks and elevate critical issues to project leadership.
- Conduct qualitative risk assessments and prioritization.
- Perform quantitative risk analysis (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations) where required.
- Support schedule risk analysis in coordination with Project Controls.
- Assess cost contingencies and recommend adjustments.
- Evaluate potential risks associated with variations and change orders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
- Professional certification such as PMI‑RMP, IRM or equivalent advantage.
- At least 12 years of experience in risk assessment, risk mitigation, and risk management in infrastructure projects, including at least 5 years of experience in railway projects. Proven experience in leading multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Experience in Identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks during the design review and construction supervision phases of the project.
- Have working experience in KSA or another GCC country.
- Demonstrated initiative, drive, leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and quest for optimization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well organization and planning skills.
- Ability to work in a cooperative team environment, with stakeholders from very different fields.
- Excellent communication skills – fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Arabic language communication skills will be an advantage.
- User skills in MS Office applications.
- Driving license required to drive to site or to technical meetings with the client representative.
