Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company has been appointed to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of a state of the art international airport in the city of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

King Salman International Airport will have a capacity of up to 120 million travellers by 2030 and 185 million travellers by 2050, and the capacity to process up to 3.5 million tons of cargo by 2050.

Bechtel will provide PMC services for three new terminals;
Terminal 6 is a new build ‘low cost carrier’ – hyper efficient terminal with gross floor area of ≈450,000m², capacity of 20mppa;
Iconic Terminal is a new build ‘new concept’ terminal with gross floor area of ≈1M m², capacity of 40 to 45 mppa, and Private Aviation Terminal and hangars for VIPs and business jet passengers.

• In this role, you will report to the MEP Lead and be accountable for supervising and managing the work of the customer’s designers and contractors in the delivery of design for the airport terminal buildings mechanical systems design including HVAC systems, emergency ventilation systems, pumping systems, horizontal & vertical transportation systems (elevators, escalators and moving walks), and building maintenance systems.
• You will prepare estimates, work plans, progress reports and assist with the tender, evaluation and award recommendations for the MEP contractor(s).
• You will coordinate and collaborate with other teams such as the Terminal Delivery teams, Stakeholder Management, Contracts & Procurement and Start‑up/Commissioning as required through all stages of the Project life cycle.
• Your technical expertise and coordination will ensure outcomes meet customer and project requirements.

• Supervision and management of the customer’s designers and contractors in the delivery of terminal buildings mechanical systems design.
• Review of technical submissions from designers and contractors relating to mechanical systems.
• Support to Contracts & Procurement in the delivery of design to support procurement and post tender technical evaluation and award recommendations.
• Monitoring & reporting on the progress and performance of the customer’s designers and contractors.
• Coordination with the Stakeholder Management team to ensure that all required permits and approvals are achieved in a timely manner throughout the Project life cycle.
• Support to Construction & Quality delivery teams during the execution of the works relating to terminal buildings mechanical systems, including resolution of requests for information, field change requests, non‑conformance reports and work inspection requests.
