The role is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of obtaining approvals for engineering drawings from Municipalities (Baladiya) and relevant Government Authorities. This role requires a technical expert who understands local building codes and possesses the administrative savvy to navigate government procedures, ensuring all project licenses are secured efficiently and without delay.
Key Responsibilities- Engineering Approvals: Review and audit architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to ensure full compliance with Municipal regulations and National Building Codes prior to submission.
- Platform Management: Manage permit submissions through digital portals (such as Baladiya, Etimam, and Safety/Civil Defense platforms) while closely tracking application progress and status updates.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the firm and relevant government entities.
- Attend technical meetings with municipal officials to resolve design comments, clarify requirements, and address compliance issues.
- Stay continuously updated on the latest circulars, executive regulations, and procedural changes issued by government departments, including the Ministry of Housing, Civil Defense, and Water/Electricity authorities.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain complete technical files, ownership documents, and site reports required for issuing Building Permits and Occupancy Certificates.
- Develop proactive strategies to accelerate approval cycles by anticipating bureaucratic challenges and addressing them in advance.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering. - Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the local market, specifically focusing on engineering permits and government approvals. - Profound knowledge of Municipality (Baladiya) standards and the National Building Code.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for quick technical adjustments to drawings.
- Strong understanding of land-use regulations, zoning laws, and setback requirements.
- Active membership in the Council of Engineers (Professional/Associate level preferred).
- Previous experience in a consulting firm or with a major real estate developer (preferred).
