Position: 105875-Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering activities related to the design of industrial machines, tooling, and production equipment.
  • Prepare project descriptions or fitness for use (FFU) and manage projects including reporting.
  • Drive conceptualization and detailed design with documentation that includes equipment modeling, drawing preparation, and strength calculations.
  • Prototype and validate new machinery and systems.
  • Collaborate with the Technology Manager to align design objectives with business and operational needs.
  • Oversee technical reviews, feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimation for design projects.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety standards, industry codes, and company engineering policies.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, automation, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth handover and integration of new equipment into production.
  • Foster continuous improvement and innovation in machine design, process automation, and industrial solutions.
  • Manage development team activities, including coordination with other departments, preparation of design descriptions and FFU, and coordination of engineer participation.
  • Mentor and develop the engineering team, promote knowledge sharing, and build technical competencies.
  • Support capital investment planning and technology roadmaps related to machinery and equipment development.
Project Management
  • Prepare project descriptions or FFU and manage projects including reporting.
  • Coordinate, support and lead all project activities with internal departments and external companies.
  • Prepare cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Follow‑up and report cost reports and progress within deadlines during the project.
  • Coordinate and approve all technical documentation for quotations (RFQ).
  • Issue purchase requests and perform technical reviews and follow‑up with the Procurement department as needed.
  • Follow up suppliers during prefabrication and shop testing as needed.
  • Coordinate and lead all shipments and work/installation activities on construction sites with installation and commissioning teams.
  • Check and approve that received documentation from suppliers is correct and sufficient for preparation of as‑built drawings and technical manuals.
  • Prepare final project report including possible lessons learned.
Authority and Freedom of Action

The person in this role has authority to make decisions within the limits given by the closest superior and the company policy. Freedom of action is significant within the given limits.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in machine design and equipment development, including 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in leading cross‑functional engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
Technical Skills
  • Strong expertise in mechanical design principles, FEA analysis, and engineering calculations.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Inventor).
  • Good understanding of industrial automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and material selection.
  • Experience in project management tools and methodologies.
Soft Skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
  • Strategic mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in designing solutions for CW‑HW, automotive, or heavy industrial applications.
  • Exposure to Industry 4.0 concepts and digital engineering tools.
