Job Title: Technical Office Manager (MEP)

Industry: Construction & Infrastructure (Electrical & Mechanical Works)

Location: Project Site / Head Office

Job Purpose: To manage and lead the Technical Office activities for Electrical and Mechanical (MEP) works, ensuring all engineering deliverables, technical submissions, and documentation comply with contract requirements, specifications, and approved standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the MEP Technical Office team for the project.
  • Review design and construction drawings to ensure compliance with contract requirements and technical specifications.
  • Oversee the preparation and approval of Shop Drawings, Material Submittals, Method Statements, and RFIs.
  • Coordinate with site teams, consultants, and clients to resolve technical issues and clashes.
  • Manage technical queries, change orders (VOs), and claims in coordination with the project management team.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and technical decision-making.
  • Review quantities, specifications, and support cost estimation when required.
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards and health & safety requirements.
  • Attend technical meetings and provide reports and technical support as needed.
  • Ensure proper documentation control and technical records management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Professional certifications are an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in MEP construction and infrastructure projects.
  • At least 3–5 years in a Technical Office Manager or similar supervisory role.
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure or government projects is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical systems (MEP).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and project-related software.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with FIDIC contracts.
  • Exposure to mega projects such as tunnels, metros, airports, or large infrastructure developments.
