Join Larsen & Toubro as the Head of Engineering – MEP overseeing design and detailed engineering of mechanical systems for renewable projects across India, SAARC countries, Middle East, CIS, and Africa.

The role includes HVAC, Fire Protection & Fire Alarm Systems, EOT cranes, BESS fire strategies, and support from pre-bid engineering through commissioning.

• Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead and mentor Lead Engineers, Engineers, and draftspersons.
  • Develop and implement engineering plans aligned with project requirements.
  • Ensure efficient delegation and completion of tasks.
  • Drive team performance to achieve organizational targets.
• Technical Expertise
  • Provide oversight on HVAC, FPS, EOT cranes, BESS fire protection for renewable projects and industrial buildings.
  • Oversee HVAC design: plant room sizing, load calculations, ventilation, pressure drops, equipment selection, ducting layouts.
  • Supervise FPS engineering: hydraulic calculations, fire pump sizing, pressure drops, sprinkler, hydrant, gas suppression layouts.
  • Specialised knowledge in BESS fire protection due to thermal runaway risk.
  • Ensure EOT crane and monorail hoist engineering meets safety standards.
  • Review and approve vendor engineering documents.
• Project Management
  • Align designs with contractual specifications and mitigate pre-bid risks.
  • Coordinate multi-discipline teams (Electrical, Civil/Structural).
  • Secure timely client approvals for manufacturing clearance.
  • Support technical reviews for procurement and techno-commercial decisions.
• Quality Assurance and Risk Management
  • Adhere to international mechanical standards (ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NFPA, NBC).
  • Perform risk assessments and implement solutions.
  • Monitor and control budgets for profitability.
  • Audit design deliverables and vendor outputs.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, vendors to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with execution teams to address technical challenges.
  • Manage sub-consultants and coordinate engineering inputs.
• Innovation and Process Improvement
  • Utilize engineering software: HAP, Pipenet, FHC, REVIT, NAVISWORKS.
  • Identify opportunities for energy-efficient and sustainable solutions.
  • Promote continuous improvement and talent development.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with specialization in HVAC and Fire Protection/Detection Systems.
• Minimum 20 years of experience, with at least 5 years in leadership managing large teams and multi-center operations.
• Experience handling projects in Middle East and international regions is highly desirable.

• Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
• Expertise in international mechanical standards and best practices.
• Proficient in engineering software and MS Office applications.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
