Senior Utilities (Design Services) – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Directly reporting to the Lead Civil Design Manager, the Senior Utilities Engineer reviews utilities projects in civil engineering. This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

• Investigate field problems affecting property owners, contractors and maintenance operations due to necessary utility relocations.
• Review and approve plans related to the relocation of water supply, wastewater collection and distribution lines.
• Coordinate assigned activities with consultants, engineers, developers, contractors, utility companies, other government offices and civil defence.
• Develop plans, specifications, quantity surveys, cost estimates, RFPs and other contract documents as needed.
• Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets and other construction documents.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers/drafters, designers and lower‑level engineers working on the same project.
• May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations and ordinances.
• May act in an advisory capacity to senior management on engineering matters.
• Apply engineering knowledge to design pipelines, hydraulic and hydrologic analysis.
• Create, operate and maintain infrastructure master plan and mapping database.
• Represent the company, its projects, programmes and policies with citizens, customers, the public and other government agencies.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as required.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in civil engineering, environmental engineering, sanitary engineering, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of related work experience.
• Experience using design software such as Water Cad, Sewer Cad, Storm Cad, etc.
• Familiarity with international and local codes and standards for Al Riyadh.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
• Familiarity with company policies and procedures; demonstrated ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines.
