We are seeking a highly skilled Design Coordinator (MEP/Structural) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the design aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and Structural elements for our building and mixed‑use projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong buildings‑focused, rather than infrastructure background in engineering and excellent coordination skills to ensure seamless integration of various design disciplines.
- Coordinate MEP and structural design activities across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with architectural designs and client requirements
- Review and analyze design drawings, specifications, and other technical documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to resolve design conflicts and optimize solutions
- Organize and lead design coordination meetings, documenting decisions and action items
- Identify potential design clashes and propose effective solutions to mitigate issues
- Monitor project schedules and ensure timely delivery of design deliverables
- Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of design output
- Stay updated on local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices
- Contribute to the development of sustainable design strategies for projects
- Prepare and present design coordination reports to project managers and clients
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Architectural)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP/Structural design coordination, preferably in large‑scale building and mixed‑use projects – buildings‑focused, rather than infrastructure.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Revit
- Strong knowledge of MEP and structural design principles
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with diverse teams
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities
- Detail‑oriented approach with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Saudi Arabia
- Understanding of sustainable design practices and their implementation in projects
- Professional certifications such as PMP or LEED are preferred
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
