Tunneling Specialist

Tunneling Specialist will be assuring that the client requirements are fulfilled by the design builder. Responsible to assure all tunneling work is properly planned, designed, and coordinated with all affected parties. See to it that the work is sequenced and constructed in accordance with project requirements and industry best practices. This position to be based at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

• Reviewing routing studies, design, guidelines, geotechnical and review risk and gap analysis.
  Conducting and coordinating tunnel design reviews, reviewing tunneling schedules, coordinating
  interfaces sessions, preparing scopes of work and estimates for design changes, and preparing technical memos and studies for design alternates.
  
  · Providing technical field support evaluated RFI’s technical submittals and change order request. Coordinating design issues during construction, providing cost estimates for technical support services, updating guidelines and standards and coordinating updates for best practices documents.
  
  · Assuring the design-builder properly plans, scheduling sequences and implementing their schedule to reflect the project requirements and milestones.
  
  · Assuring proper field support documentation of construction activities and changes. Assuring all field changes are properly engineered, approves and implemented. Assuring the accurate completion of
  as- built documents.
  
  · Assuring the design-builder takes into account all stakeholder requirements and interface activities for each phase of the tunneling program.
  
  · Preparing a list of requirements based on contract documents and stakeholder criteria and reviews them against Design-Builder submittals.
  
  · Preparing a list of all design requirements and best practices and review the design/builders submittals to assure design safety conformance, fire life safety and fit for purpose of the tunnel design.

• Engineering or related degree
• Minimum of 15 years experience post-graduation
• Experience working on large and complex tunneling projects in a tunneling specialist role
• Strong understanding large project construction programs with multiple interface and stakeholder requirements including utilities, station construction, roadway and traffic and adjacent structures.
