Position Overview Design Engineer – Mechanical roles with AECOM in Riyadh support the delivery of advanced mechanical design solutions for major buildings and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Develop and modify 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings using CAD software such as Solid Works and AutoCAD Perform Finite Element Analysis to assess design performance, reliability, and optimization opportunities Design and improve mechanical systems and components with focus on manufacturability, durability, and cost efficiency Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define technical requirements and product specifications Prepare detailed technical documentation including design reports, calculations, and manufacturing instructions Identify and resolve design challenges through structured engineering analysis and problem-solving Participate in design reviews and present mechanical concepts and solutions to internal and external stakeholders Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, codes, and project requirements Stay updated on emerging mechanical engineering technologies, materials, and best practices Ideal Profile Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering Proven experience in mechanical system design within construction or engineering projects Skills Set Strong proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling tools Hands-on experience with Finite Element Analysis methodologies Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials science Strong analytical, documentation, and technical reporting skills Effective communication and teamwork abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment About the Company AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm delivering professional services across planning, design, engineering, and construction management.
