About the job LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering activities on construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards
- Oversee BIM-related coordination, facilitating clash detection, design reviews, and multidisciplinary alignment
- Review mechanical models, drawings, and calculations; provide clear technical comments and ensure timely resolution of design issues
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve technical queries and support smooth project execution
- Monitor site installation works, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to approved designs
- Support planning, material submittals, method statements, and commissioning activities
- Identify risks, propose engineering solutions, and drive continuous improvements in project delivery
- Minimum 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience within contracting firms
- Strong understanding of BIM workflows, model coordination, and digital engineering processes
- Proven capability to review and interpret mechanical drawings, models, and technical documents
- Demonstrated experience working on site, managing installation and construction activities (not purely office/design based)
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills
- Familiarity with relevant mechanical codes, standards, and construction best practices
