Our Al Hamra Campus is seeking an inspirational and values-driven Head of Primary to lead the Primary School into its next phase of development. This is a pivotal senior leadership role for a leader who combines warmth and humanity with ambition, clarity and high expectations.

Al Hamra is known for its small‑school community feel, small class sizes and the exceptional quality of relationships between children, staff and families. Attention to detail matters here. Knowing every child matters. Creating a school where people feel valued, supported and proud to belong matters.

As Head of Primary, you will build on strong foundations while also reviewing practice, refreshing approaches and constructively challenging thinking to ensure the school continues to evolve. This is role for a leader who is curious, reflective and never complacent — always striving to make Al Hamra the very best it can be for children, staff and families.

As a key member of the Al Hamra Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Primary will contribute to whole‑campus strategic development and work in close partnership with the Senior School. The role also involves collaboration with Heads of Primary across the BISR group, actively supporting the One BISR philosophy while preserving the distinctive character of the Al Hamra campus.

This role reflects BISR’s high expectations for senior leadership, grounded in a relentless focus on school improvement, high‑quality teaching and learning, robust safeguarding practice, and a deep commitment to student well‑being, staff development, and community trust.

The Successful Candidate Will:

Demonstrate a proven track record in senior leadership, having served as a Head of Primary, Deputy Head or Assistant Head within a highly regarded British or international school.

Be an outstanding primary classroom practitioner.

Bring the confidence and judgement to lead thoughtful, well‑paced change.

Have proven ability to mentor, appraise and develop staff, embedding a culture of professional growth and shared accountability.

Possess advanced knowledge of curriculum design, assessment and international educational standards.

Lead with high emotional intelligence, building strong relationships with children, staff, parents and governors.

Fully embrace and model BISR’s Mission, Vision and REACH values.

Hold a UK or UK‑recognised teaching qualification.

We

Offer:

Highly engaged children who are known as individuals and supported to thrive.

A close‑knit, welcoming school community with strong partnerships between home and school.

Small class sizes that allow for personalised learning and exceptional pastoral care.

A learning‑focused organisation committed to leadership development and professional growth.

Dedicated, reflective colleagues who value quality, wellbeing and continuous improvement.

The opportunity to live and work in a unique, beautiful and rapidly developing country while contributing to a respected international school group.
