Principal, Interior Design

Manage the execution of Interior Design services across assigned ARDARA projects and for various asset types (i.e., residential, retail and F&B, offices, hospitality) in alignment with the desired design concept, design specifications, design briefs and along with the international and local standards, as well as ensure they are prepared and submitted within given time frames and budget.

• Contribute to the implementation of the department strategy ensuring alignment to divisional strategy, ARDARA’s vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
• Ensure that assigned departmental strategy initiatives are followed and/or implemented by provision of subject matter expertise and team collaborative effort.

• Participate in setting and consolidating the department budget and report financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance, and potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities.
• Oversee and guide the implementation of relevant department policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls.

• Execute Interior Design work and reviews with an eye on ensuring that sound principles of Interior Design, space functionality, space planning, sustainability and commercial viability are utilized
• Implement and adhere to guidelines and standards for design and selection of: FF&Es, Finishes, Joinery, Signage, Artwork, materials, installations…and ensure this is done in line with leading practices and applicable laws & regulations, asset operators and purchasers in general.
• Execute revision on detailed design submissions by external service providers and provide recommendations ensuring that design and choice of Interior Design element and material reflect the project concept and vision and adhere to ARDARA’s standards and guidelines.
• Partner with the Development function to provide any necessary input from an interior design perspective while developing feasibility studies.
• Partake in costing processes to align with Quality – Cost aspects and generate viable alternatives, challenge external services providers, designers and stakeholders.

• Execute the revision of interior designs and provide recommendations variations and changes during the construction / fit out phase to enhance performance and adhere to new requirements.
• Partake and own the coordination of all aspects of interior designs outputs, amongst others with the MEP, HVAC, Structural elements, ceilings, floors, accesses and planning.
• Administer the application of sound principles of Interior Design excellence and ensure sustainability and commercial viability of the work produced to meet requirements.

• Support in managing the coordination with the Commercial function to procure the required design services based on ARDARA’s standards and requirements, while ensuring optimal value and cost.
• Work with third-party service providers including reviewing detailed designs and recommending changes in line with specifications and contractual obligations, and applicable government regulations.

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university.

10+ years of relevant experience in Interior Design organization / Projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment in a development company that includes most of the asset classes ARDARA is developing.
