CBS is searching for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor Engineer to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the cost and contract administration for construction projects. You will provide expert advice on procurement strategies, prepare detailed cost estimates, conduct risk assessments, and ensure that projects are completed within budget. Your ability to analyze project specifications and drawings will be crucial in preparing accurate bills of quantities and identifying cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, excellent mathematical skills, and the capacity to communicate effectively with project stakeholders. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documentation for various construction projects.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to identify all elements of work and associated costs.
  • Monitor project costs and implement effective cost control measures to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Collaborate with project managers and contractors to provide cost advice and financial assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct measurements and valuations for work completed and prepare payment applications for contractors.
  • Assist in the negotiation and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market rates, and changes affecting the construction sector.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a similar field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
  • Proficient in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIQS) is preferred.
