This role is conducted within the vision, mission, and strategic plan of the Insurance Authority. Responsible for safeguarding regulatory integrity and service excellence across the licensing lifecycle, this position ensures accurate, timely issuance and ongoing governance of licences for intermediaries and service providers. Reporting to the Manager of Intermediaries & Service Providers, the role will maintain authoritative records, uphold statutory compliance, and deliver data-driven insights that inform operational decisions and continuous-improvement initiatives.
By coordinating seamlessly with applicants, internal functions, and external regulators, the specialist mitigates risk, fortifies stakeholder trust, and sustains the Authority’s reputation for transparent, responsive oversight. The incumbent thereby enables the department to meet performance targets while advancing corporate regulatory objectives.
- 'Receive and review incoming licence and permit requests, verify completeness of submitted information, and enter data into the Authority’s Licensing Management System.
- Administer fee calculations, payment confirmations, and issuance of electronic receipts in accordance with approved tariff schedules.
- Track application milestones, flag missing information, and follow up with applicants to secure required clarifications within agreed turnaround times.
- Prepare draft licences and renewal notices for supervisory approval, ensuring all terms, conditions, and validity dates align with current regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date digital and hard-copy applicant files, ensuring documents are stored, indexed, and retrievable in line with the Authority’s information-governance policy.
- Update licence registers and revoke-list databases immediately upon approval, suspension, or cancellation decisions by senior officers.
- Compile and archive supporting evidence for audits, inspections, and external enquiries, adhering to confidentiality and data-protection standards.
- Serve as first-line point of contact for routine licensing queries from intermediaries, service providers, and internal colleagues, providing accurate procedural guidance or escalating complex issues.
- Schedule applicant meetings, site visits, or virtual hearings as instructed by the Manager of Intermediaries & Service Providers, preparing agendas and required reference packs.
- Coordinate with Finance, Legal, and IT units to resolve payment discrepancies, legal undertakings, or system access issues that affect application progress.
- Prepare weekly status dashboards on application volumes, processing times, and pending actions for managerial review.
- Support continuous-improvement initiatives by capturing recurring applicant pain points and suggesting changes to forms, checklists, or knowledge-base articles.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Bachelor’s degree in Law, Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or related field
- Relevant Professional Certificate is preferred
