OpportunityEY Sustainability helps organizations embed sustainability into their core strategy and operations. We leverage data, technology, and analytics to drive strategic interventions relating to climate resilience, resource efficiency, and long‑term value creation across the energy, infrastructure, finance and government sectors.
The RoleAs a Manager, you will lead the design and delivery of sustainability programs that help clients prioritize investments, optimize portfolios, and achieve long‑term value creation. You will manage complex projects, develop robust business cases, and guide organizations through transformation journeys using advanced analytics and strategic frameworks.
Key Responsibilities- Business Case Development:
Build detailed financial and sustainability business cases for sustainability‑related interventions, for example digital enablement, decarbonization, climate resilience, natural capital, circulatory, supply chain sustainability and technology adoption. - Portfolio Management:
Design and manage project/program portfolios, ensuring alignment with sustainability objectives and ROI targets. - Investment Decision Support:
Apply quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate interventions, prioritize initiatives, and recommend optimal investment pathways. - Scenario Modelling & Risk Assessment:
Use data‑driven models to assess sustainability and climate‑related risks, cost‑benefit trade‑offs, and long‑term value impacts. - Digital & Data Enablement:
Oversee implementation of data architectures and dashboards that track performance and support decision‑making. - Innovation Screening:
Evaluate emerging technologies and AI‑driven solutions for sustainability, advising on deployment strategies. - Operating and Delivery Models:
Redesign governance structures to embed sustainability into enterprise risk and investment frameworks.
As a Manager, you would be expected to play a key role in the delivery of technical work. It is desirable that you bring the competencies that will allow you to do this, such as:
- Expertise in financial modelling, cost‑benefit analysis, and portfolio optimization.
- Strong understanding of sustainability economics and ESG value drivers.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder environments.
- Excellent communication skills to present investment cases and strategic recommendations.
- Commercial acumen and ability to identify market opportunities.
- Demonstrable evidence of managing and delivering sustainability interventions.
We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, but are particularly interested in individuals that have the following qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field.
- 6–10+ years of experience in consulting, investment analysis, or sustainability strategy.
- Proven track record in business case development and portfolio management.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks, ESG standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; experience with data visualization and AI‑driven decision tools is a plus.
