Category Manager

Job duty

• Responsible for business planning and strategy development in the FOOD sector,,
  Staple and basic food categories like rice, flour, cooking oil and grains
• Identify and establish long-term partnerships with direct distributors and wholesalers.
• Stay on the lookout for new suppliers based on strategy.
• Assist in setting the yearly budget/sales target and profit per category.
• Administer the price setting and respect the margin per category.
• Monitor and enhance category/product performance.
• Establish long-term development strategies for product categories.
• Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products.
• Create trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services.
• Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility.
• Monitor price and competition.
• Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories.
• Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category.

• 1. Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in marketing, supply chain management, food science, or related fields;
• 2. 5+ years of experience in food procurement, preferably with exposure to diverse categories (e.g., FMCG, retail, or consumer goods).;
• 3. Strong understanding of market trends, supply chain systems, and category management methods in the food industry;
• 4. Excellent negotiation, data analysis, and market insight skills;
• 5. Strong communication, coordination, and team management experience;
• 6. High sense of responsibility, strong ability to work under pressure, and keen business acumen with an innovative mindset;
• 7. Proficient in offic systems, and other data analysis tools.
