Overview

Primary Job Role - Ensure rental equipment is Rent Ready cosmetically and mechanically for urgent/immediate shipment to customers. This includes maintenance and readiness checks to meet safety and liability requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain all rental equipment to Rent Ready status, including cleaning (blowing out, vacuuming, power washing, detailing, dusting), decals, touch-up painting, and tire shining.
  • Verify every piece of equipment has the proper safety and operational components (ladders, handrails, jack stands, landing pads, fire extinguishers, operating manuals, bungee cords, etc.) and ensure decals are installed and legible.
  • Ensure mechanical readiness (voltage set to customer requirements, batteries dated and under three years old, CAT® specifications met, fluids topped, fuel level appropriate for transport, breakers operational, machine runs for 30 minutes without issues).
  • Receive rental/support equipment, perform official Check In reporting hours, fuel level, damage, cable count, and determine if units require servicing or repair. Notify Supervisor, Leadman, and Fleet Service Coordinator as needed. Verify License Tag and DOT expiration and coordinate with Truck Shop if updates are required.
  • Maintain equipment data in the communal computer platform (model, serials, hours, availability, service needs, tag numbers, VIN, GPS, DOT expiration, and comments).
  • Load/unload equipment on trucks using a lift truck or overhead crane; retrieve equipment from inventory using a farm tractor, lift truck, or yard jockey. Refuel and add engine fluids as needed. Assist Service shops as requested.
  • Keep the rental yard and work locations clean and organized; maintain yard order by model size.
  • Conduct weekly functional runs (at least 30 minutes) to ensure equipment operates properly and minimize in-field service calls. Use Rental fuel filtration system and load bank as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with other shops/departments to complete rental fleet work (generator shop, truck shop, fab shop, paint shop, transportation, etc.).
  • Count, sort, and store support equipment (cables, hoses, fittings, hardware) with proper labeling and inventory management. Upload manual inventory to digital Yard Walk weekly and participate in annual corporate inventory audits.
  • Coordinate with Rental Support Reps at other branches to maintain adequate ancillary equipment and supplies. Prepare parcels for mailing and coordinate with outside vendors as needed. Update stakeholders on status.
  • Participate in On-Call rotation, providing after-hours response. Respond to calls within 15 minutes and assist with unit prep and loading, including on-site setup as required. May drive to job sites to assemble/disassemble equipment and pull cable/hoses for customer setup.
  • Install equipment properly (cables, hoses, chiller hoses, air hoses, ductwork; cam lock fittings on cables and hoses) as required for various rental equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, DBS).
  • English language proficiency (speak, read, write).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; strong mechanical aptitude.
  • High School Diploma or related equivalent preferred.
Working Environment
  • Stress:
    Occasional exposure (less than 20%).
  • Work Schedule:

    Regular business hours with occasional nights, holidays, and weekends.
