Summary
The Staff Accountant is instrumental in the delivery of construction accounting services to our clients. They are responsible for full charge accounting for their portfolio as well as processing all construction requisitions for payment. They are involved in cash management and interaction with the District Managers and the clients.
Essential Functions- Assists in client accounting and financial statement preparation.
- Handles Account Receivable/Cash Application and Accounts Payable/Cash Disbursements.
- Coordinates and processes client payroll with outside vendor.
- Prepares end of month close, including recording financial transactions to the G/L, reconciliation of all accounts, revenue schedules, and expense analysis.
- Construction payables processing to include creation/processing of Construction Requisition s for payment, tracking of Requisition s through approval process, submit approved Requisition s to Trustee for payment and enter Construction disbursements from Trust in MIP.
- Coordinate the processing of Direct Purchase of materials to ensure all state required documentation has been completed.
- Non-essential duties include other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Required Experience- Preparation of financial statements.
- Application of double entry accounting processes.
- Accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P) and bank reconciliation.
- MS Outlook and Excel.
- Multi-company financial statements.
- Community management industry experience.
- Community management software knowledge.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to coordinate/manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues, vendors, and clients.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem solving.
