• Completes tasks that are clerical in nature and provides technical support to the medical and nursing staff.
• Provides patient care within the CNA scope of practice as per policy.
• Monitor vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, pain assessment, weight, height, and records as appropriate in EHR.
• Obtains lab results, x-ray reports, operation reports, discharge summaries for follow-up visits to expedite patient visit, often involves calling/faxing other clinics or hospitals for provider review.
• Stocks supplies exam rooms and cleans exam rooms between patients to ensure room cleanliness and availability.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment as needed.
• Answers telephone takes messages and provides the medical provider, or nurse with appropriate information when needed for continuity of care.
• Actively participates in clinical nursing staff meetings, required competencies, annual trainings, clinic flow, projects assigned, and activities.
• Communicates with patients, families, and team members to ensure the occurrence of effective therapeutic interventions, and to ensure safe patient care.
• Maintains knowledge of information management concepts (Health Records) and effectively participates in implementing the information management principles and maintains security and confidentiality of data and information.
• Other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the department.
