REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Wyoming PTSB Certification in Guidance and Counseling
* Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling
POSITION SUMMARY
To help students overcome problems that impede their learning and to assist them in making
educational, occupational and life plans that hold promise for their personal fulfillment as mature and responsible men and women
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Aid students in course and subject selection.
* Obtain and disseminate occupational information to students and to classes studying occupations.
* Assist students in evaluating their aptitudes and abilities through interpretation of individual standardized test scores and other pertinent data, and works with students in evolving education and occupational plans in terms of such evaluation.
* Register students new to the school and orient them to school procedures and the schools varied opportunities for learning.
* Work to prevent students from dropping out of school.
* Maintain student records and protect their confidentiality.
* Assist the staff to better understand students by providing sound and current research information that would enable the teacher to aid the student's effective development.
* Consult with parents regarding the student's academic and personal progress and advise parents on available resources.
* Assume the role of liaison, which includes working with students, parents, teachers, administrators, special personnel and community agencies.
* Provide student information to colleges and potential employers consistent with provisions of the Board's Policy on student records.
* Provide in-service training to teachers and students regarding the guidance program.
* Perform such other duties that may, from time to time, be assigned by the supervisor.
* Other duties as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies and regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence.

EVALUATION
Performance on this job will be evaluated by the School Principal in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of certified or classified personnel.
SALARY SCHEDULE
This position will be paid according to the approved Certified Professional Salary Schedule.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Student School Year Calendar + extra days depending on while grade levels are served.
CLEARANCES
Employment is contingent on a local, state, and federal criminal background clearance.
