Working Hours and CompensationMon – Thur 6 AM – 4:30 PM + overtime Fridays as needed.
$17.50/hr+ depending on experience + quarterly bonuses + 2% quarterly attendance bonuses + full benefits starting day one + extra PTO bonus potential.
Essential Functions- Basic disassembly, washing, and reassembly of freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons.
- Identify serviceable vs. non‑serviceable parts.
- Operation of semi‑automatic equipment such as pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, and ultrasonic washers.
- Handle valves, parts, tools in a safe manner.
- Proper use of power and manual tools such as impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, and hand tools.
- Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Perform hazardous waste management duties as necessary; annual hazardous waste management will be completed. Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper will be completed every three (3) years.
- Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
- Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
- Must understand and support the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Must understand, support and adhere to the relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
- Technical capacity
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
- Good mechanical skills.
- Knowledge of shop use measuring devices.
- Ability to complete the disassembly process without damaging parts.
- Basic knowledge of quantitative methods, statistical procedures, and graphic skills.
- Communication proficiency.
- Organization skills.
- Time management.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentThe employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e., noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt, etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education And Experience- High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
