Overview
Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift at US Farathane. This position is responsible for supporting the Quality System, including auditing in-process product per instructions, completing associated documentation, and assisting with other quality department tasks based on customer demand.
US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing for the automotive industry for over 40 years. We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black-box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPEs and TPOs, as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Examine and inspect materials and parts to discover defects, wear, and tear.
- Ensure that products or parts conform to work orders, specifications, blueprints, and templates.
- Inspect materials and finished parts, determine if the product or part is in conformance with specifications, and adjust process or assembly equipment.
- Re-work parts per work instructions.
- Use precision measuring instruments and complex testing equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence, and to speak and present information effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to do simple math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Knowledge of inspection techniques and measurement instrument usage.
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Tasks are usually performed indoors in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee must not wear any loose-fitting clothing that may get in the way of the moving machinery.
The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be required to work outside for short periods of time.
