Job Summary
Develop, maintain, and improve automation control systems that are integral to the production process for the assembly of automotive seating and overhead systems. This is a senior-level controls role requiring strong troubleshooting, programming, and automation expertise
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther duties may be assigned.
Continuous Improvement & Quality- Participate in PFMEA analysis.
- Serve as a knowledge leader for Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and implement error-proofing (poka-yoke) requirements throughout the production process.
- Participate in 8D or similar root-cause-based problem-solving activities.
- Ensure abnormalities are identified and addressed to resolve root causes.
- Identify and plan for process impacts resulting from engineering changes.
- Contribute to equipment purchase specifications.
- Review and provide feedback on equipment controls drawings prior to build approval.
- Troubleshoot, program, and diagnose PLC systems.
- Troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and data handling functions in Control Logix processors.
- Maintain PLC documentation received from equipment suppliers.
- Maintain an archive of PLC programs throughout the facility.
- Maintain an archive of machine controls drawings in electronic and/or paper format.
- Support and troubleshoot I/O devices connected to PLCs, including:
- HMIs
- Scanners
- Remote I/O
- Sensors
- Relays
- Solenoids
- Apply knowledge of electronic and instrumentation principles to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore operation.
- Experience with Fanuc robots
, including iRVision systems
. - Support robotic integration and troubleshooting within automated production lines.
- Support the Maintenance Department with equipment troubleshooting.
- Assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting pneumatic circuits.

Education and ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Allen-Bradley experience is required (must-have).
Strong experience with:
- RSLogix 5
- RSLogix 5000
- Studio 5000
- Control Logix
- Panel View development software
Proven experience troubleshooting, programming, and diagnosing PLC systems.
Experience with Fanuc robotics and iRVision systems.
