Automotive & Fleet Mechanic
Prudential Overall Supply is looking for a talented individual who is well‑diversified in all aspects of fleet and automotive mechanics. The candidate will ensure timely, accurate service and repair of the fleet, restoring downed equipment quickly to keep them operational within company guidelines.
Base Pay Range$33.00/hr – $33.00/hr
Occupational Certificates / Licenses- ASE certified in Diesel Repair for Medium and Heavy Duty
- ASE Certified in Brakes
- ASE Certified in HVAC
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associates degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent working experience
- Experience working with D.O.T. requirements.
- 5 years or more of shop experience, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing commercial fleet vehicles.
- 5 or more years as a Fleet / Automotive / Truck‑Trailer mechanic.
- Proficient with all paperwork requirements for operating a shop to DOT standards (CA BIT / DOT Inspections).
- Proficient in preventative maintenance control systems – Bumper to Bumper repair.
- Proficient in parts procurement and inventory control – Able to locate and order parts.
- Experience in Electrical, hydraulic and diesel engine preferred.
- Possess appropriate tools for heavy‑duty truck mechanic position.
- Valid Class A driver’s license.
- Valid Medical Card.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Military experience encouraged.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Maintain vehicles with emphasis on complete preventative maintenance programs.
- Maintain vehicle files with complete history for evaluation, supporting quality of maintenance and meeting DOT standards.
- Interface with management and lead mechanic to provide information on controllable vehicle costs.
- Help maintain shop quality, cleanliness, and ensure OSHA and state/DOT standards are met.
- Develop shop quality and conduct oneself professionally.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned within reasonable scope.
- Be willing to travel on overnight trips.
