Overview

The Riverside University Health System - Behavioral Health Department is currently recruiting for an experienced Registered Nurse II (III, IV) to join the Resident Education Clinic in Riverside. The Resident Education Clinic seeks an experienced RN with a strong background in psychiatry and behavioral health to join our team. This position involves working in the field, providing direct support to patients and collaborating with our Psychiatry Resident Program.

The RN will play a key role in assisting with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments. Prior experience with TMS is highly desirable. Candidates should have extensive nursing experience and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments. This role requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality mental health care. Work Schedule: 9/80 Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with every other Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Work Location: 9990 County Farm Road, Suite 5, Riverside, California, 92502

Required Licenses and Certifications
  • Current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Basic Life Support, (BLS), certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Valid CA driver's license.

Responsibilities
  • Within the full scope of the Nurse Practice Act, assess, plan, organize, and provide nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with physician instructions; make preliminary observations of, and prepare patients for, medical treatment.
  • Assist physicians in administering treatments and in performing medical examinations, diagnostic tests, and surgical operations.
  • Administer prescribed treatment and medications including dispensing as ordered to patients; chart treatment of patients and report significant changes in condition and general progress.
  • Counsel and advise patients, families and significant others regarding medical problems and proper healthcare methods; prepare and maintain records and reports.
  • Instruct patients in carrying out physician's orders; may transcribe physician's orders to working records.
  • Provide orientation and training to new staff, residents, medical students, ROP and nursing students.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews; may act as a team leader or relief charge nurse.
  • Assign and monitor the work of subordinate nursing personnel; participate in committee activities.
  • Triage patients by reviewing admission charts and integrating patients into the clinic flow.
  • Testify in court as to the client's mental and physical condition; may recommend conservatorship investigations when assigned to the mental health setting.
  • Coordinate and monitor patients through the hospitalization process with physicians, primary care nurses, and third-party payors to maintain quality care and fiscal responsibility.
  • Review post-hospital care plans with patients/families and coordinate discharge planning.
