?? Position Details

• Setting: Hospital (NICU or L&D)
• Location: Riverside
• Schedule Options: Per diem (1-2 shifts a week), 12 hour shifts
• Pay Rate: $90/hour (local)

?? RN Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Perform ongoing maternal assessments, including vital signs, labor progression, and fetal monitoring
• Identify and escalate abnormal maternal or fetal findings
• Provide emotional, physical, and informational support during labor
• Coach patients through positioning, breathing, and pushing
• Educate patients and families about labor, interventions, and postpartum expectations
• Administer medications such as oxytocin, analgesics, antibiotics, and epidural-related meds
• Assist anesthesia providers during epidural placement
• Manage induction and augmentation of labor
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and support operative deliveries
• Provide immediate postpartum care for mother and newborn
• Perform initial newborn assessments and support early bonding and feeding
• Document assessments, interventions, and communication with the care team
• Perform detailed assessments of premature or critically ill infants
• Monitor vital signs, respiratory status, feeding tolerance, and neurological status
• Recognize and escalate early signs of deterioration
• Manage ventilators, CPAP, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory support devices
• Operate incubators, warmers, infusion pumps, and monitoring systems
• Administer IV, oral, and central-line medications
• Manage TPN, lipids, and specialized neonatal infusions
• Perform blood glucose checks and other point-of-care tests
• Support breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and gavage feeding
• Monitor feeding readiness and tolerance
• Assist with procedures such as intubation and line placement
• Provide family education and emotional support in a high-acuity environment
• Document assessments, interventions, and interdisciplinary communication

? Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in NICU or L&D
