Job SummaryThe Level III Staff RN is the leader of the healthcare team, providing professional nursing care using the nursing process and adhering to established standards, policies, and procedures. This role demonstrates performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan, maintains flexibility in changing systems, and upholds a dedication to quality, effectiveness, and respectful treatment of co‑workers, patients, families, and the entire care team.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Leadership
- Upholds Kaiser Permanente Policies, Procedures, and applicable laws.
- Delegates tasks, demonstrates accountability, and supports team members.
- Mentors, orients, and coaches others in unit-specific operations.
- Prioritizes, delegates, and supervises work assignments to ensure patient‑care completion.
- Engages in problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Participates in the change process and promotes new ideas.
- Nursing Process
- Develops and updates individualized care plans reflecting assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Ensures multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education are reflected in the plan.
- Monitors patient progress, revises plans as necessary, and ensures standards of practice are met.
- Manages discharge planning, patient safety, medication safety, pain control, and patient education.
- Documentation
- Charts accurately, legibly, and timely, reflecting nursing process interventions and evaluations.
- Utilizes computer systems efficiently to support patient care.
- Clinical Outcomes
- Communicates patient findings and progress to physicians and the care team.
- Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on data interpretation.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.

- Adheres to LMP Workplace Safety principles.
- Applies standard precautions to maintain a safe environment.
- Patient Care Experience
- Provides customer‑service‑oriented care, responding promptly to call lights and requests.

- Adheres to the Attendance Program and reports promptly.
- Fiscal Responsibility
- Minimizes overtime use and identifies system improvements.
- Optimizes payroll and non‑payroll resources.
At least 1 year of recent (within last 3 years) full‑time equivalent experience in L & D, antepartum testing, FCC/Post‑Partum, OB/GYN, or Women’s Health, with associated fetal monitoring experience.
Education- Certified (or eligible) in a 2nd and 3rd trimester OB ultrasound within the last 5 years.
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certificate (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)

- This position is irregularly scheduled and is a float role required to cover all OBGYN clinics in the Riverside Service Area.
