Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) Runner is an experienced registered professional nurse responsible for coordinating care, assessing patient and family needs, and implementing interdisciplinary care plans. The RN performs scheduled and emergency visits, guides patients and families through assessments and admissions, and educates patients, families, and caregivers. The RN collaborates with physicians, the Medical Director, and the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
- Current RN license in the state or valid compact license.
- Current BLS certification.
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience within the last 3 years; experience in hospice, palliative, or home health preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments covering physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and bereavement aspects.
- Develop and initiate care plans.
- Coordinate patient needs with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Communicate with physicians and Medical Director regarding patient changes and care coordination.
- Deliver care across various settings per the approved care plan.
- Complete admissions and documentation accurately and promptly, including electronic medical records and OASIS documentation.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling and accept new admissions and emergency assignments.
- Stay informed about relevant regulations and accreditation standards.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Follow supervisor instructions and seek additional guidance when needed.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement programs.
- Ensure safety hazards are identified and mitigated.
- Engage in continuing education through seminars and workshops.
- Attend staff meetings and care conferences.
- Complete documentation accurately and timely.
- Adhere to company policies and RN scope of practice.
- Maintain punctuality and attendance standards.
- Perform triage and manage end-of-life issues with families and caregivers.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
