LPN/LVN – Pediatrics

Responsibilities

Cover and assist clinical offices based on operational needs. Participate in patient examination and treatment, take vital signs, record patient charges (history), assist minor office procedures, and provide patient education. Communicate effectively, maintain infection control and aseptic techniques, and cover various locations.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current California licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Vocational Nursing.
  • Two years’ experience preferred working as an LVN in a multi‑specialty group.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Current California LVN License.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (BLS) and IV Certification required.
  • Current ACLS Certification preferred.
Essential Functions
  • Cooperate in cross‑training to ensure coverage.
  • Interview patients; measure vital signs and record on patient’s chart.
  • Prepare treatment room, assist physicians, and maintain cleanliness.
  • Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families.
  • Administer prescribed medication orally or by injection and document usage.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests under supervision.
  • Initiate and manage intravenous lines as directed (must be IV certified).
  • Operate certified equipment and perform assessments (EKG, pulse oximetry, inhalation treatments).
  • Travel between departments and facilities as needed.
  • Inventory and order supplies as required.
  • Operate within LVN scope of practice and RMC policies.
  • Discard expired medications and supplies.
  • Maintain current California LVN licensure and BLS certificate.
