PurposeThe purpose of the Quality Technician is to ensure product quality and compliance by performing routine testing, inspections, and data collection. This role supports manufacturing operations by identifying defects early, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing timely feedback to help drive continuous improvement.

The Quality Technician performs inspections and laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. The role includes accurate data recording, identifying and reporting quality issues, maintaining and calibrating lab equipment, and following GMPs and SOPs. The technician also supports continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on processes and test results and assists in training and mentoring team members as needed.
EssentialFunctions
- Register and test samples of work in progress and finished products.
- Analyze test results for quality levels, determine if material passes or fails, quantify results and keep records.
- Sample and test incoming raw materials or work in progress materials as required and classify by grade.
- Must be able to accurately determine flake and pellet color via visual and equipment inspection to determine quality level.
- Maintain all department databases and records.
- Provide accurate, clear, and immediate feedback to production team, production and quality managers, regarding quality issues via email.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Maintain and clean laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Follow production GMP’s.
- Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment.
- Obey safety and hazard requirements and use appropriate PPE.
- Be aware of inventory levels of product/s being used at the moment and report when depleting those product/s.

Minimum Qualifications / Education / Experience / CertificationsEducation:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Experience:
- Hands-on experience and technical knowledge of lab equipment, including pH meters, viscometers, GC, melt flow, titration equipment, etc.
- Specific knowledge of HS Gas Chromatography is a plus.
- Experience with measuring equipment, SPC and quality systems is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with testing methods and procedures is preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
