Sr. Farm Machine Mechanic – Inside Higher Ed

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Landscape Services, the Sr. Farm Mechanic plans, organizes, and directs the operation of the grounds machinery service garage. Performs service, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of grounds equipment; diagnoses and corrects mechanical malfunctions; repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds; lubricates grounds machinery; dismounts, repairs, and replaces tires; makes sheet metal repairs by welding and brazing.

Establishes and ensures shop safety procedures are followed and maintained. Sets up inspection and preventative maintenance schedules and ensures schedules are followed. Maintains a positive attitude for the team and communicates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty and students.

Full salary range: $31.82 – $42.83 per hour. The salary range has been updated as of June 22, 2025.
