We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented UI/UX Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating user-friendly designs that enhance usability and optimize the overall user experience. You will identify design challenges and propose elegant, effective solutions. This position involves working on multiple applications that are in various stages of development or rewrite. Your goal will be to ensure each application maintains its unique identity while providing a sense of familiarity across the organization.
Responsibilities- Create User-Friendly Designs:
Develop designs that enhance usability and optimize the overall user experience. Identify design challenges and propose elegant, effective solutions. - Innovative Approaches:
Develop innovative approaches to complex design problems. Present your ideas through mockups, presentations, and detailed design specifications. - Continuous Improvement:
Continuously challenge design effectiveness, monitor behavioral analytics, and suggest improvements to optimize user experiences. - User Interviews:
Conduct user interviews to understand analyst workflows and pain points. - Collaboration with Product Owners:
Partner closely with Product Owners to ensure the feasibility and accuracy of designs. - Iterative Design:
Iterate on designs based on stakeholder feedback and evolving requirements. - Communication:
Clearly communicate the status of work to leadership, team members, and other stakeholders. - Navigate Ambiguity:
Effectively navigate through ambiguity and project challenges. - Deliver On Time:
Ensure project work is delivered on time. - Multi-Application Focus:
Work comfortably on multiple applications, ensuring consistency and familiarity across PA32’s websites.
Required:
- Education:
Must have a BS degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. - Experience:
Must have 3 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 1 year of professional work experience, or equivalent experience). - Security Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and Naval installations. - Travel:
Must be able to perform occasional travel - less than 10%. - Work Environment:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. - Location:
Must be willing to work on-site in Norco, California. - Citizenship:
Must be a U.S. Citizen. - Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles and best practices.
- Experience with the software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge and implementation of Agile development processes.
- Experience in conducting user research and usability testing.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with Agile SAFe methodologies.
- Experience with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and practices.
- Experience with A/B testing and other user experience research methods.
- Portfolio of previous UI/UX design work.
