Position: COORD - OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE - TEMPORARY
Responsibilities
Cooperate in the cross training of this position to ensure adequate coverage at all times.Initiates Occupational Medicine process set forth by workers comp guidelines and follow Employer Profile as set forth by department protocol.Schedule new and established patients according to the approved Clinic and Workers’ Comp guidelines and the appointment scheduling policies and procedures.Verify workers comp patient information with employer/insurance carrier following patient registration criteria.Performs and completes walk-in Pre-employment Urine Drug Screen, Alcohol Swabs testing, DOT and completes Chain of Custody Form.Check-out patient documents as set forth by Workers Comp guidelines and Employer Profile.Take messages for office staff and providers as requested and when appropriate and according to protocol.Respond to emails/fax requests from employers, attorneys, and insurance carrier as per department protocol.File documents according to guidelines.Obtain authorization from insurance carrier for patient referrals set forth by workers’ comp guidelines.Respond and send correspondence via email and fax to employers, insurance carriers and attorneys as set forth by workers’ comp guidelines.Assume data entry duties as required.Coordinate transportation for new injury as per employer profile.Travel to other Occ Med clinics to help cover when needed.Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
