Loan Servicing Manager (Hands‑On / Individual Contributor)
Location: Encinitas or Riverside, CA
Compensation: DOE
Reports To: SVP / Chief Credit Officer
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
This role is with a growing commercial bank nearing $1B in assets, focused on commercial real estate, construction, bridge, C&I, and consumer lending. We are seeking a senior‑level Loan Servicing professional to take ownership of day‑to‑day servicing operations.
While titled “Manager,” this role is currently structured as a hands‑on individual contributor
. The selected candidate will personally execute loan servicing functions while helping build scalable processes to support continued growth.
As the bank grows, this position has the potential to evolve into a leadership role overseeing loan servicing operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesFull Loan Servicing Lifecycle (Hands‑On Execution)
Manage the complete loan servicing lifecycle from boarding through payoff
Process payments, advances, loan modifications, and payoff demands
Support construction and bridge loan draws
Maintain accurate tickler tracking and documentation
Monitor insurance coverage, UCC filings, and collateral requirements
Ensure accurate loan booking, funding, and system integrity
Maintain servicing files and respond to borrower inquiries
Partner with Title, Loan Officers, Credit, Accounting, and Legal on cross‑functional workflows
Support internal audits and regulatory examinations
Ensure collateral position remains compliant with loan documentation
Maintain data integrity within servicing systems
Adhere to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Assess and enhance servicing workflows to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk
Develop and document scalable procedures and servicing standards
Identify automation opportunities within FISERV and related systems
Partner with IT on system configuration improvements
Implement basic KPIs and reporting standards as the function matures
Provide overlap support to Loan Processing when needed
Assist in maintaining strong borrower and internal relationships
Contribute to a collaborative, team‑first culture in a growth‑oriented bank
7+ years of bank or lending operations experience, with strong loan servicing concentration
Experience supporting CRE and construction lending portfolios
Strong understanding of collateral perfection, UCCs, insurance tracking, and loan documentation
Experience preparing for audits and regulatory exams
Working knowledge of entity structures and state filing requirements
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and organizational skills
Experience with FISERV or similar core system preferred
Experience with Laser Pro or similar documentation system preferred
A senior loan servicing professional who enjoys hands‑on work
Someone comfortable owning the function independently
A detail‑oriented operator who understands risk and compliance
